Our goal with these fabulous dogs is to find the perfect papillon to show to the world, while producing healthy, strong animals.    While delicate in looks, these wonderful companions are great athletes and game-players. Raised with children, they are great with well-trained children! Healthy paps generally are free of skin, ear or eye problems.  Ours are always fully immunized, microchipped and tested for genetic issues.

The Papillon's true strength and appeal lies in its ability to perceive the emotional needs of its owner and to translate them into a healthy psychological environment. In other words, the animal becomes what the owner needs at the time, depending on circumstances.   Papillons are built for movement, and most do not need any encouragement to apply their energy to athletic activities.

Gabrielle - Wallpaper's new champion!!
When we made the conscious decision to become papillon breeders. we had already shown papillons and had the privilege of being part of Maki's breeding and whelping through Caprice Papillons and Irene and Bob Synnott.  Through their generosity and mentoring, we got our start and learned the principles of the show and breeding community, deciding at last to become part of that world officially.

And so, Wallpaper Papillons was created.  Breeders of all stripes have logo names and we wanted ours.  Barb invented the name, assuming it would be an obvious combination of who we were and what we did.  Not so!  And so, we thought we ought to define our name as well as ourselves and our goals.

Wallpaper is the combination of Wallace (our name) and Papillons (the dogs). Wall + Pap and, well, it looked like wallpaper!  It seemed like a clever idea at the time. What has turned out not to be so clever is that no one, to a person, gets it, and it is really a long name to combine on the AKC registration form. It has turned out to be memorable :o)
